Consortium Working Groups

Following each round of public input, working groups made up of citizens with specialized knowledge and interests are meeting to dig more deeply into issues identified by the East Tennessee residents. Initially these groups will focus on the region’s assets and challenges. In later phases of the project, they will focus on specific recommendations for regional priorities and implementation strategies.

Working Groups were formed to provide expertise and guidance in each of the five PlanET focus areas. Select a group below to learn about their work on each topic:

Existing Conditions Memo

One of the first tasks to be tackled by the working groups was an evaluation of a report of existing conditions in the region across the five PlanET focus areas.

The memo contains key findings only and is not intended to be an exhaustive collection of data or to provide recommendations for addressing issues. The memo adopts a regional perspective, looking at systems and commonalities that bind the five PlanET counties together. It did not identify highly localized issues that may be limited to or solved by a single community. It also did not include key findings for topics not related to one of the five PlanET focus areas (economic development, transportation, housing, community health, and environmental quality).
