Regional Outreach Series

The PlanET team will engage the larger regional community through a series of public meetings scheduled for late 2011 through 2013. These meetings work together to build a citizen-based regional direction for the next several decades, a preferred growth scenario that reflects this future direction, and action strategies to guide implementation.

Outreach Series Approach

Regional outreach sessions will be structured to provide small-group activities to encourage discussion among diverse participants. The meetings also will include technological components that aid in collecting, organizing, and prioritizing ideas, which allows small discussion groups to collect ideas quickly, identify themes or areas of consensus that emerge, and vote on priorities via keypad polling devices or mobile phones. This also allows the meeting group as a whole to better understand and discuss overall results and the meeting outcome.
