PlanET‘s success depends on community involvement. This is a process driven by the citizens of Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon, and Union counties, the persons who know the region best and have the most at stake in its future. Listening to your stories—stories of the past, stories of today, and stories of hopes and aspirations for future generations—is critical.
How can I participate?
Making the East Tennessee Region a more prosperous and livable place requires your input. There are many ways that you can participate in PlanET and make your voice heard.
Attend an Upcoming PlanET Event
A series of meetings will be held through 2013. Events to-date have included a project kickoff, a regional symposium on economic competitiveness and series of regional meetings, most of which included innovative, interactive tools to capture public input, such as Brainstorm Anywhere and keypad polling.
Host Your Event With Our "Meeting in a Box"
We provide the materials for you to host a meeting yourself and send us your meeting results and notes. Gather your community group, neighborhood association or friends at a convenient time and location and join in the larger conversation!
Participate Online
There are a variety of ways for you to participate online. PlanET has Facebook and Twitter sites, not just to disseminate project information, but as another forum for discussion. PlanET also has a new online tool for Round 3 public input. (insert link) Regardless of the venue you choose, we want to hear your voice!
Working Groups
Working groups comprised of citizens and professionals with specialized knowledge and interests are digging more deeply into issues identified by the community in each phase of the PlanET process.
