Regional Growth Projections
The East Tennessee Region is expected grow by an additional 300,000 people in the next 30 years, meaning that the five-county PlanET area will be home to nearly 1 million people by 2040.
Regional Growth Concepts
Five regional growth concepts showing where new homes, jobs, roads, transit and open space could be located have been developed. These will be used to define a preferred direction and identify policy and investment choices that will inform a future action plan for our region.
The PlanET Playbook is a compilation of voluntary and implementable strategies to guide communities across the region. The eight goals it outlines serve as the cornerstones of our strategic eﬀorts to become a more competitive, healthy and prosperous region in the years to come.
A number of community-based projects demonstrating local solutions to typical regional problems have been developed in partnership with the University of Tennessee and the Community Design Center.
