The PlanET process is an entirely locally-led process. Overall guidance of PlanET comes from the Board of Mayors, which represents jurisdictions across the PlanET region. The Community Leadership Team, which represents a diverse array of interests and organizations across the region, answers directly to the Board and prioritizes activities throughout the process and directs staff work.
Board of Mayors
The Board of Mayors is made up of mayors from each county and municipality within the 5-county project area. The Board provides general guidance for the effort, provides political leadership for the process, and approves key milestones. They meet on a quarterly basis and receive updates from staff and the Community Leadership Team throughout the planning process.
Community Leadership Team
The Community Leadership Team consists of a mix of representatives from public, private, and nonprofit organizations from a diverse cross section of the PlanET Region. The Community Leadership Team meets each month and is tasked with prioritizing work activities and making critical recommendations to guide the project and staff (e.g. strategies for public involvement approaches).
